I am a dedicated researcher and collector of all kinds of information, which I love to share and spread around. byKracke.com is the central hub for everything.
OK, so I love the "look at your man, now back at me, now back at your man, now back to me" commercial. I smile every time and love the punchline on the end ("I'm on a horse"). And there is this great 20 minute video of how it was made ...
I sooooooo want to post a spoiler, but I won't. You will have to watch for yourself.
#1 - So there is a World Championship for Anvil Launching?
#2 - His observations on the difference between the sexes is kind of funny ... and shockingly accurate in my experience
#3 - It's a FLYING ANVIL!
This project/concept appeals to me, but I have my reservations.
Multi-touch works until it starts making me interact in ways that feel unnatural to me. "Pinch/Pull" to zoom was a bit of a jump when I got my iPod Touch, but it makes sense intuitively.
I guess I can't decide if I could get past the constraints inherent in their system. I don't know if I like the idea of having my windows stacked like a deck to flip through, yet I don't mind the single-tasking interface of the iPod. Maybe it wouldn't be a big jump, but in my work, multiple windows allows me to get things done.
My current setup is dual monitor, and when I am coding, I typically have 3 windows open - my code editor (Notepad++), my web browser (Chrome), and an FTP client (FileZilla). I jump between screens quickly, and often will tile 2 windows on one monitor and place the browser on the second.
10/GUI would require a paradigm shift, but it could be interesting.
My awe is only matched by my shame that I'm not sure I could accurately LABEL all 50 states, let alone draw them freehand.
Political tendencies aside, this also impresses one of two things upon me: Option One -- Senator Al Franken is an amazingly complex thinker and loves his country. Option Two -- Senator Al Franken uses parlor tricks to impress people.
